Recent Pictures
Well Rylee looked so cute on Sunday! I bought her some new sandals and her cute new hair bow! Gotta love having a girl to make all pretty!
Nathan decided to throw a tantrum after his nap. He was crying and carrying on for over an hour. BUT I am so proud of myself because I did not give in to his wants! Oh PS! This was all over me giving him water and he wanted apple juice which he had already had that day!
Oh and me....just trying to stay positive and patient throughout Nathan's whole tantrum!

Nathan and Rylee! Rylee has got some serious bug eyes....I am sure she is nervous that Nathan is holding her!

This picture is too silly of my baby girl! She was trying to eat her fist but she was definitely serious about it!

Nathan and I were outside the other day and he did a great job on putting the sprinkler flags out on daddy's lawn that is like 3 feet long! If I didn't have two little kids I would be out there mowing it!

Nathan enjoyed his SpaghettiOs for dinner...can't you tell? They were crusted all over him! I was scrubing him forever trying to get him cleaned up.

Rylee was not very happy in her swing...no wonder...she has almost pulled her bow into her eyes! Then she really starts screaming! I love the face with the bow clear down like a sweatband! hahaha
Just a side note! Ryan will be home in like 24 hours from now! I am ready for that for sure! It really can't come soon enough!

Fire
Okay, so check this out. Ryan sent this to me. This is the same fire he is on now but this happened to the group before his group got up there. They set up their camp about 30 miles from this area. Anyway, take a couple of minutes and look at each slide. Crazy stuff. I am so grateful Ryan wasn't up there then I would have been a wreck!

How do you do it?
Well, I just need to know one question...how do you do it?! How does someone have enough patience to never yell or loose it with a child? I have been doing really good but Nathan at church today really tried my patience. Thank heavens Karen was holding Rylee and I was trying to wrangle Nathan. He was pretty good until the last oh about 20 minutes or so. He was laughing at absolutely nothing and was laughing as loud as he could a fake dumb laugh! So there we went out to the foyer. Sat there for a couple of minutes with him on my lap and he was being so naughty out there to. So then I took him outside and gave him a really good talking to....Away we went back in and sat down. We barely got through the closing prayer with me holding my hand over his mouth while he yelled something like "Stinky diaper mommy, change diaper!" Well he wasn't stinky but I was totally embarrassed! Then he was really upset when I sent him with Karen to go to nursery...he kept telling me "no church mommy, home." I was like "NOPE! You are going to nursery" Karen bless her heart is his teacher. So he cried as he walked away but soon got happy. Thank heavens for church and especially nursery because parents would stop going to church if there was not a place to send the kids for two hours! hehehe just kidding but that's how I feel sometimes! So all afternoon he wasn't the most pleasant of children either. After his nap he had a crying fit for over an hour because I wouldn't give him more apple juice. I gave him water and apparently that was just the meanest thing I could have ever done to him. Okay so enough of my ranting...
On a much lighter note. Ryan comes home on Thursday..YAY! Did I ever even mention where he is? I don't remember. He is in Cascade, Idaho. He is on the Cascade Complex Fire up there. Can't wait for Thursday! That makes me happy to even think about it! Well, I must get going I need to clean up the house before my head hits the pillow! Good Night! (I am feeling much better after getting all of that off my chest! Sorry I blog so much about my children!)

Smiles!

So let me start out by giving you a little information on these pictures. So this one of Nathan looking sicker than sick was yes, on the day he probably felt the very worse from his nasty cold that has finally started to subside. As for Nathan sleeping with the baby dolls...he takes things to bed with him at Nana's house. So this day for his nap he choose two babies. I just thought this was so sweet him laying next to his babies. The rest of these are of Rylee. She is showing off the bows that my mom and I made her. My mom tied the bows and I put them together tonight. She is so cute in them...they are a little big on her head still but I like them. I was so excited to get a BIG smile out of Rylee too! Usually I can't get the smile I get before or after but not this time! Yay!
On another note. We decided to come home today. Big Kudos to my mom and dad who let us stay there and helped out a tremendous amount with the two little ones! Brave church alone with my two kids tomorrow and the rest of the weekdays till Thursday. Yes Thursday and Ryan will be coming home! PARTY TIME! Okay not really but I am very excited to see my handsome husband! He has called a replacement for himself to take over on the fire. So that means he will be home for Las Vegas and it will be a fun vacation. Especially because we are going to Cedar City on Friday and staying there Friday night. I can't wait to get away for the weekend with my family. It will be so nice!
We came home this afternoon and put Nathan down for a nap which by the way he loves to sleep on his floor in his sleeping bag! Then very soon after that I was able to put Rylee down for a nap in her crib where she slept very soundly for a few hours! It was nice to have a little piece and quiet because Rylee usually doesn't sleep for the whole time Nathan does. But she loves her crib! I think she needs to move permanently in there don't you!? That would probably make for a great night sleep for me :::::I think:::::: Well, Rylee is screaming at me...she wants to be held so I must go for now!

Feeling good
Well, I don't know what to say but thank heavens for my parents! Gotta love it when we get to hang out with them! Crash their house for a few days! I can't imagine them not wanting us to...they get to spend all the time they want with their cute grandkids and all! Nathan is still battling a cold. I hope he is starting to come out of it. I am about as tired as I can be of "here mommy, booger" and then I turn around and his little finger has a booger on it for me to take. Yummy I know! Everyone tells me to be happy that he isn't eating them (Double Gross) and just giving them to me. So I will count my blessings... Nathan is just learning how to say prayers. We usually just say his goodnight prayers for him but now he is helping us in what to say. He is so grateful for so many things and it makes me so happy to hear him pray because he knows he can talk to Heavenly Father and he definitely listens to even my two year old son! It's a great feeling I tell you!
Okay, so now I have been hearing that people want more pictures of Rylee and of course Nathan. But this is the place to get them. The ones I have taken are on here so you can pick and choose the ones you want. Yes you can save them too. Now it's all up to you guys! No more complaining because I don't send pictures! This is just way easier to post them on here and then everybody can see them. I don't even have to send mass emails out anymore with them. This makes my life much easier. And let me tell you that I am always looking for ways to make my life less complicated and less busy.
I have come to a conclusion...I can't wait to move out to this side of the valley. I just love how everything is so convienent. I don't have to drive a million miles to just do a little bit of shopping. It seems like it is all right around here...the things I need to get done and it happens so much faster! Ryan thinks that I shop all the time. Sometimes when he is gone it is therapeutic to shop. I don't usually buy everything but it is nice to get out of the house that constantly reminds me of him. I was watching the news at noon today and they were out at the Air Force base waiting for soldiers to unload off of a plane to all of their loved ones waiting there for them. I totally was teary eyed because I don't know how the wives do 15 months without their husbands! I am so grateful that Ryan is not gone for that long. Now I know should be grateful for what I have! Which I am!

Hiatus!

Well, I am ready to go on a hiatus! With Ryan gone and Nathan and Rylee...I think I need a break! When do mom's get breaks? Vacations? Time away from the kids? Hahaha Never right? That's what I figured! So after a good cry Saturday night and emotional all day Sunday I went over to my mom and dad's house. Yes...for help with my kids. I think when you plan on having some help usually every night from your significant other it can really wear on a person to be left alone with the kids for...ya know a whole two weeks. Agh! So it was so nice having my mom and dad here willing to let me crash their house with the three of us! It is not an easy task to get two kids and myself packed up and headed over to the east side. We had a great couple of days though! We did some shopping and just got some small things done that needed to be accomplished! For example, I got a battery in my watch that has been dead for over a year...Yay for me!!! I even bought a birthday present for my dad whose birthday is September 11th. Now if I do say so myself that is definitely ambitious to get that done already. Kudos to my mom who helped pick it out! Now to make sure Nathan doesn't tell Papa what his present is. LOL I can totally see him just telling him anytime too! So today I came home this afternoon/evening. Finally got Nathan in bed and now I get to blog, then begin to clean my house most of the reason I actually came home! Then tomorrow afternoon I am taking Ryan's aunt to the airport and off to my mom and dad's house again. It is just not fun to be here all the time alone. Besides when I am not here the house cannot get messy! So anybody can come and see it anytime! It is awesome let me tell you! Just a little dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms, floors and it will be spic and span!
(This picture is courtesy of my sister Angie...needed to see how cute this dress was on her! :) ) On another note! I believe Rylee has a little bit of Nathan's yucky cold! She has been quite fussy the past couple of days which she is usually such a good baby so this is definitely a different side I haven't seen. She hasn't been sleeping well at my parent's house, she has been congested in the mornings when I feed her and overall just kind of whiny. Who knows though right?! Well, I better begin my cleaning so I don't have it all to do tomorrow when Nathan is awake! Yikes! Now that's a thought! He's such a big helper and all! Sunday, August 19, 2007
Away, Away, Away!!!
Nathan is sick! Yuck! He woke up Friday morning coughing and now has a gross cold. Ryan left to go on a fire up in Idaho last night. So nonetheless I was a wreck last night! I don't know how I just let him go to the fire in Fillmore earlier this summer! So yesterday afternoon and last night I cried a lot! Everytime I talked to someone especially Ryan I would cry. And even now I am crying again just writing this and thinking about it! I hate to think that he might be gone for two weeks...at which point I am making him come home to go to Las Vegas with me. I think that two weeks is generous enough. I don't think I could handle 21 days right now. I tell you that everytime Ryan goes out of town whether for one night or more Nathan gets sick! So today I was going to attempt church by myself with two little kids but then my mom reminded me that Nathan probably shouldn't go to nursery and spread his germs to the kids there. So I was thinking we would just go to Sacrament Meeting. But then in the middle of the night last night and this morning his cold that was just a runny gross nose is now a hacky cough too! I don't think that the moms and dads in my ward want Nathan coughing all over everyone in Sacrament either! So we are homeward bound instead of church which I was definitely looking forward to today! It always gives me the pick up I need for the week ahead of me! Ya know...it helps me get the patience I need with my two kiddos to survive! So off to Nana and Papa's house for some time over there. Not sure how long we will stay. I have to come home on Wednesday to take Ryan's aunt to the airport. My mom and dad are so great because they invited me and the two little ones over to stay so they can help me control them! hehehe Okay, Rylee she is so hard to control let me tell you... Nathan he is usually pretty good especially over there so I am definitely not opposed to the help! Well I better go send off a letter to my missionary brother! I definitely owe him a good letter!

Computer drama and shots, UGH!
Well let me start out by telling you that my computer has gone crazy!!! I tried to get on here all day yesterday and it didn't happen. I could have done a good post because Ryan stayed home with me...Yay!!! This all began two days ago when I took Rylee and got her two month old shots! Ouchie! Then I decided to take her that same night and get her ears pierced. She was an angel for the first ear...because she didn't even flinch or cry! Her lip started to quiver right before the second one and then on the second ear she cried pretty hard but just for a couple seconds!
So check out how stinkin' cute she is with her pretty ears!
She has little cz studs in them! Too cute I tell you! So yesterday morning when Nathan came in while Ryan was getting ready which was too early to even remember what time...Rylee got up to eat and was so fussy! This is because she had her shots with a fever and lovely sore legs. She wanted to be held so bad but she didn't want you to touch her legs at all! I felt terrible for her! So she was on Tylenol all day but Nathan was a pill right off the bat yesterday morning. Ryan even volunteered to stay home because he could see what kind of a day it was going to be! Besides he could get called out on a fire at anytime and he wanted to make sure he spent some time with his family in case he does have to leave! So Rylee's legs had the biggest red spots...they were raised, red, hot and hard! We couldn't get over how big the one spot was! I am so glad they are getting better this morning!

I love being a mom and there really isn't anything better than being a wife and a mom! BUT! I really want to go and get a pedicure...really and honestly just to have some time to myself is all! Sometimes I feel like it is something that I rarely get! I would be feeling that way right now too! With a baby who hasn't felt good and a two year old who seems to be crazy and definitely spoiled rotten; I feel like I need to get out of the house for like oh maybe one hour would be nice.
So yesterday after trying to get on the computer all day I finally gave up. I blame it all on Nathan which I know is SOOOO not nice but ever since he was on here on Sunday messing around I would like to say it is his fault that for the three days that followed him on here it was a mess! Ryan was trying everything he could to try and figure out what was wrong. After last night he thought he might have fixed it...I am so glad because we really don't have the money to buy another computer right at the moment! Alrighty then!

Sprinklers and mud
Run fast...
Wet and muddy...what a combination!
Just standing in the sprinklers...with mud all over his face!
Well, Nathan had a fantastic time at Nana's house yesterday if you can't tell already. He gave Papa's new sprinkling system a test drive. Seems to be working quite well I do say so myself. My mom took great pictures and emailed them to me. I had to share! He loves the sprinklers and apparently he loves the mud too. There is no grass at Nana and Papa's house till Saturday and Nathan still had to run in the sprinklers. Anywhere, anytime he will be in the sprinklers if he could. Today he got to go to the Hogle Zoo with my mom, Grandma Gloria, Caroline and Scott (my cousins). He loves the kids and he wanted to be big like them and walk the zoo. No stroller for this big kid! I have to laugh and be sad also because of how big he is getting. I still like to think of him as a baby. Which I know he isn't but it is a nice thought to think about him when he was little like Rylee.
Speaking of Rylee! I took her today for her two month check up and she is pretty cute and PETITE! It's kinda funny actually. She weighed in at 10 lbs. 7 oz., 22 1/4 in. long, and 38.5 cm for her head. The doctor made the comment to me that he remembered Nathan when he was two months old and he seemed to be quite a bit bigger than Rylee is. I told him that was right and Nathan was over 13 lbs. and he had a GI-NORMOUS head. He was too cute but he was so much bigger! He made the comment it was good that Rylee was a girl and petite and Nathan was a big boy. hehehe! So let me just compare them in pictures! Here is a picture of Nathan the day he got his two month shots and Rylee when she got hers!

Three shots today!!! What is so great now is that Rylee got a vaccination for Rotavirus! Yay! My friend Jayne's little girl; Ainsley got Rotavirus last winter (she is the same age as Nathan) and she was hospitalized for a couple of days. So I guess this new vaccination has to be given by 12 weeks and there is a series of three vaccinations...so four months and six months. It's oral and not as bad as a shot! :) Happy mom here! So probably tonight I am going to venture out to the mall and get Rylee's ears pierced...ouch! I am not very nice but I think it will be so cute to have them pierced as a baby! I need to go to Costco too. Lots of fun let me tell you! I am purposely waiting until Ryan gets home so he can go with me to both places.

Well, Nathan did not want to take a nap this afternoon...but I knew he was tired after a fun hot morning at the zoo. I went to check on him and this is how he fell asleep in his room. I had to take a picture! Yes, he is on the floor in his room. He is too cute honestly!

Soooo Busy

Oh wow! Let me first start out by saying that Nathan is just not as good about going to bed as he used to be. Now we are having crying fits and I keep him in his room/bed by putting up the gate that goes on the stairs but in his doorway. It is a great invention but Friday night we took the gate down (because of course it was quite the feat to get him to bed that night) like we always do and at 3am he was in my room. "Good morning, mommy. Wake up" I was first of all absolutely out of it because Rylee had been up at 2am feeding and I had barely gotten back to sleep for oh I would say about 10 minutes. I was just going to dream and then he was there to make sure I didn't get that privilege! Oh yay! So I put him in his bed and then he was right out again so this time I made Ryan take him to bed. That didn't work so Ryan brought him into our bed to sleep in the middle of us. Meanwhile Rylee was fussing because it was no longer dark and quiet...the way she likes to sleep...yes I know PRINCESS!!~ Then Nathan of course lays right next to me and kicks me and touches me while I am trying to sleep...please just a few more hours of peaceful rest! Nope because he continues to touch and talk to me while I turn my back to him. So finally I took him to his bed and he was not happy. I put the gate up and of course listen to him cry while I fall back to sleep in my own bed. So finally at 4am I was back to sleep and up again at 7:30am. What a night! I was so exhausted on Saturday! We had to be up and out of the house because we had an open house here at 11am. The house showed only 2 times but that is also two showings more than any of the other houses (three others) that were in the open house.
Well Nathan had been teething...getting his eye and stomach teeth. He was in so much pain I felt really bad for him. But on the bright side of things on Friday he was able to get on a big tractor at my mom and dad's house. My dad even took him on a ride and he helped my dad level out their backyard. He was so cute! He loves tractors...hence the picture of my last post. Today he was able to go with my mom, grandma and two of my cousins to the Kennecot Copper Mine. Mom said he had the time of his life there and really enjoyed Line and Cott (Caroline and Scott). Nathan loves to play with older kids and kids his own age. Tomorrow he will be going to the zoo which he is definitely looking forward to with "Line and Cott" because he gets to ride the "choo-choo". I am taking Rylee for her 2 month check up and then maybe to get her ears pierced. What an ouchie day huh? Hopefully it won't be too bad and the Tylenol will help make it a little bit better. While I am at the doctor's office then my realtor will be bringing about 12 agents through my house. They are the ReMax agents and they go to each property so they know what they will be showing. And while they will be here my yard will be getting dug into from the Kennecott copper mine people. Sampling my dirt to see if it is contaminated with arsenic or something lovely like that. Hopefully everything goes okay while I am out. hahaha
Today is only Monday. I hope this week goes fast!

Time of my life!
Oh wow! Nathan's teeth are really throwing me for a loop! It would be his eye teeth! Aghhhhh! How come these teeth are so mean to him...and in return he is so grouchy and makes me grouchy too! ! Him waking up this morning at 6:30am did not help one bit either! I was so tired and I could not function. Rylee has been sleeping good from like 10:30pm till about 5am. I can't complain but Nathan definitely needs to sleep in a little bit later than today's 6:30am! I mean Ryan hadn't even left for work yet! Come on! Today I get to go to the doctor and find out what the deal is with my finger nail. It is totally weird! I think it is either an infection or a fungus! Gross! How in the world would I get a fungus under my finger nail?! I don't even get my nails done! It is a funny color and it is thick and lifted up a little bit. Hopefully it goes away fast! My WONDERFUL mom came over and picked Nathan up for the day and night tonight! Yay! It will be good to get some more things done around the house! We still need to paint closet doors and trim that we barely got put up. With Nathan here those things just don't get done because Ryan comes home (bless his heart) and takes over with Nathan. Which I totally appreciate!
On the other hand...I am sure you noticed the pictures of Rylee in her way cute swimming suit! I took her and Nathan over to go swimming the other day at Grandma and Grandpa C's house. Rylee was all in her suit ready to dive into the pool until Nana put her feet in and said that there was no way we were putting Rylee in there. It did end up being way to cold for her so we made it look like she was going for a swim with mommy. I love the swimming suit on her...her Auntie Ang bought it for her so I am sure she will appreciate the photos on the blog today! I can't believe how much Rylee is actually changing! She is getting very long and just over all very cute every single day! I am so grateful to have a little girl! I admit that when I found out I was pregnant this second time I kept on wishing and hoping it was another boy. I thought I would love to have all boys. Then I found out she was a girl and I admit I was a little disappointed and then when she was born and since then I have never been so happy to have a girl! I think someone knew what they were doing. I feel like my life is perfect right now. I am so content to have my husband, little boy and baby girl. It is such a fun time! Well, I need to get going...Wake up the sleeping baby...darn it! She is such a good baby!

Amazing!!

I have to say that I am totally surprised...Rylee is taking an afternoon nap in her crib!! This is a huge milestone because usually she just sleeps in the swing or bouncy seat. So I have the monitor with me so I can hear her when she wakes up and then she won't wake Nathan up too. I have been trying to figure out when I am going to put her in her crib and I am thinking it may be time! Why is it so difficult to just put the baby in a different room than me? I don't get it...I remember feeling this way with Nathan too. It is like a feeling of them getting big already! Okay, so I over react a ton but that is what it feels like to me. I have been leaving her in her cradle because when we move in with my parents after the house is sold then she will still be in our room.
I have to pat myself on the back today because yesterday I tried to be so patient with Nathan. I did a really good job all day and even until he went to bed. He only took a little nap yesterday on the way home from Park City and then he didn't want to lay down when we got home. So he read books in his room for a while and surprisingly he was really good all afternoon and evening. Even when he decided to get all the bottles out of the pantry and get water out of the fridge with them...water was everywhere but I still held my patience with him...never yelling or even spanking him! Yay for me! He did go to bed early but it worked out for the better because Ryan and I bought on a movie on pay per view...something we have only done recently. We watched Catch and Release with Jennifer Garner. It was a pretty good movie and something we don't always get to do. We need to rent a movie that Nathan can watch with us because he thinks that movies and popcorn are the greatest! Then this morning Ryan and I talked a little bit about how we get frustrated with Nathan so easily and it's usually when Nathan starts getting naughty and running around doing anything he can that he knows is a no-no. So today I decided that I would take him swimming because that would get more energy out. So we went to Grandma and Grandpa Christiansen's house today and swam for about 45 minutes. He loves the water! Now when he starts being naughty our goal is to take him outside. Maybe to the park or even just a walk. I think this will help. This week is supposed to be in the low 90's so I can handle going outside and to the park. Sunday evening we took him to the park in our neighborhood and he had such a great time on the slides. He went on all three of them. The small one and eventually the two bigger ones even the two that were covered! He didn't want to leave. Well Nathan is up I better go!

Too much!

Well what a day! It feels like from the time we wake up around this house till the time we go to bed it is crazy go go go. Today was fine and the kids were good. We had lots of things to do and places to go. I haven't been sending pictures of Rylee like I used to with Nathan when he was a little baby...Main reason for that is Nathan and Rylee. That equals 2 kids! Not just a little baby who sleeps all the time but a two year old running around. Trying to help his mommy out in whatever way he can. This week he has decided that I need help feeding Rylee. Not so much! He has fed her his sippy cup with ice water in it, tried to give her goldfish and even some yogos and fruit snacks. These things did not go over too well with me. I have had like VERY LITTLE patience this week. Definitely need to work on my patience for this coming week. Hopefully it will increase in leaps and bounds so then I am not flying off the handle whenever Nathan does or says something wrong. I admit it! I definitely have been too harsh on my little two year old who doesn't quite understand these little things like the baby gets fed by only mommy...if I said she only drank milk then he would be feeding her his sippy cup when he has milk in it. I think that my lack of patience is stemming from not enough sleep. This little girl of mine has not slept great this past week. I am hoping it is getting better because last night was an improvement! Nathan had a night terror last weekend for the first time. I have been reading about these (it totally freaked me out! I thought he was posessed!!) and they can stem from a lack of sleep which Nathan definitely was not going to bed at a decent hour and was extremely tired after all he was sick with the stomach flu for 5 days and then with all the company that was here and the go go go all the time last weekend! This has got to get better I am thinking and hoping! Well I better go make us some dinner so we don't starve!

Best Friends

Oh I am so glad that this weekend has finally passed! It was so insanely busy and stressful that I am glad to have it gone. We finally got the house ready to sell and it went up on the market Monday night! Yay! So now tell someone to come and buy it please! It is hard to have a two year old with a bazillion toys everywhere and cleaning up after each step he makes! Ryan's family started arriving at our house Thursday night...and more Friday morning and Friday evening. So in between the clutter and mess in our house we had like 6 people sleeping here too. We had to have the house ready to go before Sunday because we blessed Rylee. Then after church we had a little get together over here.
Yesterday Nathan had about driven me out of my mind...so I went shopping for a while last night. I never can get out of the house without one or two kids. So that was so nice to be able to go into a store without having to worry about my kids in the cart touching everything that we pass...and asking for candy at each register. Nathan is cutting teeth so that probably says a lot about how he is acting...his eye teeth are finally in. He has adjusted really well to having a little sister though. Yesterday she was sitting in her swing and I was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I went to check on Nathan and he had sat himself down right in front of Rylee and got her toy off of her carseat and had it propped on top of her. He sat there for like 5 minutes talking to her and playing with her...I had this great moment thinking that I had done something right having this baby only two years after Nathan. I patted myself on the back thinking that these two kids of mine will be best friends now, hopefully growing up and after they have grown up too. I am less than two years younger than my older brother and we have always been really great friends. My mom pulled a picture out the other day of Wade and I when we were younger...I was probably 2 years old and Wade was about 4. We were standing there holding hands. It was very cute. I read a journal of mine not too long ago that was from the church history tour that Wade and I went on together. He wrote me a little note in there and it reminded me of what great friends we were in high school...he was a great big brother...especially considering that he let his little sister and her best friend always tag along. Those were such great times! I was always known throughout high school as "Wade's little sister". What a great title! Well Rylee is awake so I better go now.
