DaY 1: jUnK dRaWeR(s)

I am going to post a couple of days that I hadn't done since I joined late. Here is the day 1 which was a junk drawer which in my case I just did 2 drawers that are right next to each other and the real bad place which was my counter above those drawers. I think the counter is one of my favorite turn outs along with my linen closet. What do you think?!

DaY 10: lAuNdRy RoOm

I have been trying to play catch up these past couple of days since I have been home taking care of my sick little girl! Hopefully tomorrow life will be a little more back to normal and I will be able to get out of the house for a little bit too. I definitely need some containers and such for my organizing kick. Today I got to organize my laundry room which had become a storage for all of our painting supplies while we are in the midst of that. I am glad I got to clean it up and get it looking much better. Results:

~dAy 9: ToY rOoM~

Today was to organize a toy room. I have toys in several rooms...the basement being the "main" toy room but not really an important room since it isn't even finished yet. I opted to clean Nate's room since it has been driving me crazy with the junk he keeps in it. Before Christmas he had a place for everything and when he got new things for Christmas he just hadn't found a good place to put everything. It didn't take me too long to organize it all since I do this every 2-3 months but I do want to get a label maker and do labels for the front of his bins. I had him take some more toys downstairs that don't get played with as often and I got rid of a garbage can full of stuff too. All in a days work I suppose! I need to get some more of these bin organizers from IKEA for the girls room...I them!

PS Eventually the other "toy rooms" in the house will be organized but this is what I could do today...

Day 8 Coat Closet

Today was the coat closet. Our coat closet isn't really a 'coat' closet. It is as you walk in from the garage and really our utility closet...we hang our coats on a coat hanger in the living room. I thought it wouldn't really take too long since there isn't too much stuff in there but I got in and did much more than just organize! I took everything out and had forgotten that it had never gotten wiped down when we moved in. I decided I would wipe it all down and then I got out the paint and painted the closet as well. (we are right in the middle of painting our whole house so why not just tackle this while I have it empty!?) I am still not completely done because we are going to put in shelves on one side to have more storage, I haven't completely finished painting the shelf and above that but this will have to do for now.

Monday! Monday!

What a Monday so far! I haven't got to my organization task quite yet and it is after 1pm! Laundry and organizing next...the things that have been keeping my time occupied this morning:

Took Rylee to the doctors after I worked in Nate's class. Here she is with her tonsilitis with a negative strep test.


My mom watched Sydnee while I was gone and picked up Nate from school for me. Right after I got home with Rylee; Nate was taking his jacket off while walking to his room and passing the stairs he must have thought he was turning to go down the hall and fell down ALL of the stairs! He was face down on the tile at the bottom of the stairs. Holy moly! I thought we were going to be headed right back to the doctors but he just has a goose-egg the size of a golfball sticking out of his forehead! I had Sydnee in my arms so my mom went down and picked him up and brought him up and immediately the big goose-egg was there. Poor kid!

Day 7 Pantry...My day 3

I couldn't believe it this morning when I got up and saw that it was the day to organize the pantry! Yuck! My hubby did the pantry just a few short weeks ago and I honestly didn't think it was all that bad. That is until I finished and now I compare the before and after! Holy Moly! I am now on the search for some baskets and such!

Day 6 Dresser Drawers Organization

Day 2 of my organization...today was cleaning dresser drawers. I cleaned my drawers out and Ryan's were actually really clean already! Nice! I did the top and mirror as well.

Day 4 & 5 of Organization

Ya know how you have some people over to your house and you clean up your house so it is at least clean where they are at? (Or maybe that is just what I do) Well yesterday I had some friends over for lunch to kind of celebrate some of our belated birthdays and so I cleaned up my kitchen, my family room, my living room and even the bathrooms that would be used. Of course I threw all of my clean but NOT folded laundry, coats that needed to be hung up, etc on my bed and in my room. So of course I locked it since I didn't want the kids to be parading in and out of there. One of my friends Jill asked if she could have a tour of the house...Oh crap!! Are you kidding me?! So I gave her a tour of my house and I tried to apologize over and over for how messy my room was...I was quite embarrassed but I made a goal to get my house picked up, cleaned and organized ASAP! I was on the computer last night reading blogs while the kids were asleep and Ryan was refereeing and I read my old college roommate Amber's blog about organizing and how she was doing this 21 day challenge from another blog. I blog hopped over to that and got a kick of inspiration that I definitely needed to do this! I had 4 days I needed to make up for but I will do those as I go along. Today was cleaning and organizing under my kitchen sink; however under my kitchen sink is pretty clean and organized so I did what she tells us to do and I got rid of things and reorganized. Then I went ahead and did yesterdays which was a linen closet. I have actually been dying to do this because it has been a place that we have really thrown everything since we moved into this house. So check out these before and after pictures! After I was done and saw the before picture I could not believe how TERRIBLE I had let it get! Hopefully I will have pictures to post each day of my successes! Here's to MY day 1!

Challenging myself...
