The Party

Yesterday afternoon (except I started this Sunday and finished this post Monday) we had just a family get together of Ryan's family and my family for Nathan's birthday party and we combined it for Rylee's (that is this week) birthday as well. We just got together at a park that I grew up near and we ate pizza, opened presents and ate cake and ice cream. I was actually kind of worried about Rylee because on Thursday I hauled her into the doctor's office because she started running a fever with her runny nose and cough that were already three weeks old. I thought for sure that it had gone into an infection but I was wrong and her throat was bright red and the dr. said that it was just a virus. Well she was actually doing okay for the party except for that afternoon nap that she did NOT take! We had lots of fun with all the family that were able to come and so many presents for the kids! They got spoiled! Here are some of the pictures I had on my camera...

Nathan wanted to open a present this morning

Nathan and Kylie playing at the park

Daddy and Rylee eating their pizza

Nathan and Kylie eating their pizza

Left to right...Grandpa C, my dad aka Papa, Grandma C and my mom aka Nana.

Kinda dark but this is my Aunt Kathy (sitting down on the left), Uncle Gordon and my Grandma Gloria (standing up).

Zachary just relaxing in his stroller. He is Carrie and Kelly's little boy.

Left to right...Kelly, Carrie, Kalen, Teri (Grandma) and Stan (Grandpa) except Mandy is behind Teri and Kinsey Kalen and Mandy's cute little girl is in the stroller!

Another LONG awaited gift that came from Angie, Spencer and Morgan was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he was definitely thrilled for this present as you could imagine!

One of the gifts Rylee got and she loves it! She actually played with one when she was at Primary Children's Hospital and she would get mad at whoever would pop the guys up. She is too funny!

Nathan opening the LONG awaited choo choo trains!! Yay! His expression was priceless on almost every gift. It was like that was exactly what he had ALWAYS wanted and he was thrilled (even with clothes!) He was too cute and kept telling everyone thank you.

Her new twin baby dolls

Beautiful blue eyes....need I say more?

Nathan blowing out the candles on his baseball birthday cake...he even blew out Rylee's candle along with his other three not on purpose but just because he has practiced blowing candles out and he had one big burst of air to blow four candles out!

Playing with one of her new baby dolls.

Having a drink from Papa's cup.

Nathan had the baseball piece of his cake...it just happened to be the biggest because the frosting was piled so high with the baseball being already an inch thick and the frosting underneath it as well but that's the piece he wanted.

Isn't she just too cute in her new rocking chair that Nana and Papa gave her?! She loves it and already climbs up into it. Thanks again everyone for coming and all the gifts!

Nathan was convinced that the present that we had bought for him was a big box with choo choo trains in it when in fact it was a Spiderman scooter. He opened it up and he was totally excited that it was a scooter and never complained that he had yet to open choo choo trains that would come from Nana and Papa. So funny!

Oh I wanted to share what Nathan said to me on the way home from the park/birthday party. He was so tired and he was talking to Ryan and I about his presents and how he was three years old now. The next thing he said was "mommy, thank you so much for my birthday"! I about melted because he is such a sweetheart and he says the sweetest things sometimes! I love you Natey boy and hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Happy Birthday Nathan!!

I went to bed last night thinking about three years ago and where I was at. I was EXTREMELY pregnant and soon going into labor with my little boy who today is 3 years old! I really cannot get over that he is already 3 years old. He is such a happy little guy and definitely brings a lot of joy into our house! I always really wanted a little boy and he is quite the boy these days!

Things that Nathan does:

1. He talks to everyone and tells them all sorts of fun things...like the cashiers in stores he will tell them what we are buying and why and who we are buying these items for. He'll say hi to just about anyone who walks past us too.

2. He gives the BEST loves to his sister, mommy and daddy

3. He says the funniest things!

4. He loves to play outside anytime

5. He loves the sprinklers

6. He is a good eater

7. He loves his sister, Rylee so much!

8. He goes potty on the big boy potty (for about a month now!)

9. He loves cartoons such as Mickey Mouse, Thomas the Train, Sesame Street etc...

10. He is always thinking of others and is willing to share even his most favorite things!

11. He is becoming a really good swimmer these days and tries everything his swim teacher asks him to do!

12. He sings all sorts of songs and loves to sing anytime. When Rylee was in the hospital getting her IV, we asked Nathan to sing her a song so she would not be so sad. So for everyone in the room he sang "I am a Child of God." He has a very tender heart.

13. He loves going to nursery every Sunday!

You make us laugh all the time and we are extremely glad to have such a cute, sweet little boy in our family!

Nathan, we love you so much and hope you have a very Happy 3rd Birthday!

Thomas the Train

Last year at this same time I was 9 months pregnant with Rylee but my mom bought tickets for Nathan, me and her to go up to Heber and ride on Thomas the Train. She knew that Nathan really liked Thomas so we all went up and had a great time. So this year I bought tickets again so we could once again go enjoy a whole LOT of Thomas. We invited Nathan's cousin Kylie to go with us since we thought we had an extra ticket that my mom wouldn't be using but in the end she could still come with us so she bought another ticket and came with us. We knew Kylie wasn't really into Thomas but we thought she would enjoy it anyway and spending time with cousins is always the best, right?! So first we went to pick Kylie up and about the time we were in Park City I realized I forgot my camera! I was pretty bummed but Ryan said we could probably borrow Carrie's since we still had to pick Kylie up...thank heavens Carrie saved us! Thanks tons of the camera so we could blog about this fun time we had!! Well, Kylie seemed to have a really good time. First, we stopped at Dairy Keen (home of the train) and ate some lunch while Nathan and Kylie really enjoyed watching the train with Thomas at the front go around and around the restaurant. Then we headed over to the place where Thomas was. We first got tatoos for all the kids...

Then we played at some of the other little "stations" or "tents" they have there for you. Nathan and Kylie loved to play with the trains and they even pet some miniature horses.

Rylee also enjoyed playing with the trains...Good thing Nana was there because she would have gotten run over by the other kids that were twice her size...they were out of control!

We even got to get a picture with Sir Toppam Hat. Which as you can tell Nathan wasn't too fond of his hand touching him. Nathan was such a good boy throughout the whole day. He was so happy to be there and to see Thomas. He was singing a song "Choo Choo the Big train is coming down the tracks", all day long! I would only take him to this if I knew he was going to love it and boy was I right?!

We were waiting for our turn to ride on Thomas...Here he comes!!!
Isn't he just the cutest little engine?!

Here are the kids on the train enjoying their blue train suckers!

Rylee sitting on the train enjoying her fish crackers.

These banners are hanging up as you walk into the area so we had Nathan and Kylie stand up so we could take a picture with them. Well it was kinda hard to get Nathan to stand where we wanted him to. Come to find out the whole way home (he drove with my mom) he told her that he didn't want to stand by Gordon (the blue train that he is by) because in the show Gordon can be mean sometimes! haha I get the biggest kick out of this kid sometimes!

Here are the kids for one last picture with Thomas as we were leaving.

Thanks for coming with us Kylie and spending a fun day!
Bye Thomas! See you again next year, I'm sure!

Yardwork

For some reason it feels like life has been a bit crazy lately and I rarely get on the computer for more than a minute to check my email and to read a couple of blogs here and there. Tonight (I actually started this post this afternoon) I decided that I would post some pictures that have been collecting on my camera lately...

We started working on our yard and have spent many hours out there last weekend since it was such nice weather! This is Ryan working on the sandbox/garden area.

This is the swingset that we got for the kids.

We even got the pool out to cool off in the afternoon during all the yardwork!

Okay, the water was pretty cold but Rylee got in for a few minutes and even sat down! What a trooper!

Pretty blue eyes...

She's so mobile now...she is almost walking. She has taken a step a couple times so I am sure it's just a matter of time before she is walking everywhere which honestly she might as well be walking. I would rather have her walking than crawling...it's the awkward stage I think.

Nathan had to have a picture of him in his cowboy boots. He thought he was really cool.

Just chilling out Sunday afternoon.

She stands all by herself when she is holding toys; she is just too cute. I can't believe Nathan will be 3 in another week and Rylee will be 1 in 2 weeks! They are my sweet kids and they are growing up way too fast!

Getting back

In my last post I said I would post pictures of our trip to Green River for baby Allie's blessing. Sorry it took so long. I got sick with some pretty nasty food poisoning this past Friday and I haven't been feeling very well since. Hopefully I will get back to 100% here soon!! I hate being sick and this has been the worst I think I have ever felt so I'm ready to be all better.

We had a good time in Green River. I got to use my MIL's Cricut machine to make some thing for my scrapbook pages that I needed to finish meanwhile Rylee sat in the highchair and tried a biter biscuit for the first time. I don't know if she liked it or not. She chewed on it for a little bit and then threw it on the floor but not before getting it all over her face and in her hair (okay what hair she does have!). Then Nathan was playing outside on Saturday and fell down a drop off to my in laws basement door. He got a nice bruise on his forehead and his cheek as well...we are just glad he hit a vacuum on his way falling or else we don't know what would have happened to the poor kid! He also had a bruise on his side from hitting the vacuum. Sunday we went to the blessing and then over to Greg and Heather's house for some food. Or in Nathan's case some DRINKS! They had some coolers that you just pushed the little button and the drink came out. Nathan had his share of punch and water and then some! Every time we would look away he would go and get another drink, drink it and head for more. Finally we made him go inside till we left. About 15 minutes into our drive he told us he needed to go potty. Well, Ryan being the good dad that he is, had taught him this weekend how to "pee outside". So Ryan pulled over and got him out and he "peed and peed and peed outside". Must've been all that punch he drank! Then 10 minutes later he said he needed to go again! Are you kidding me?! So Ryan stopped and got him out and once again he "peed outside"! I was just dying laughing because he really needed to go! We actually had to stop two more times and both times Nathan had to use the potty! Seriously!? He will not get to help himself to drinks before a car trip ever again....hahaha Lesson learned: I should have put a stop to the drinks from the very first one!

Here are the pictures:

Look at the girl's face!

Here is the bruise...it had just happened and got darker but he's good now!

Kinsey, Nathan and Rylee playing at Greg and Heather's house. Kinsey is learning to sit up...You go girl!!!

Greg, Heather and baby Allie!!

Here are the mom's and cousins...we are missing Kylie and Zachary! Sad we missed you guys LOTS!!!

OH PS! We need to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAITLYN! (Nathan's cousin, my brother's little girl) She is the big #3 today! Hope you have a great day!

What a Big Boy!

Last Tuesday for a reason I can't even remember (but I know there was a reason!) I put Nathan in big boy underwear and started the whole potty training thing over again! He did really well for that first day and he even pooped in the potty! Yay! Well the first two days were really good with only minimal accidents that I definitely got through and thought "okay, this might actually happen." The third day he did pretty good again and I don't think he had any accidents and we had major break through when we went to dinner and shopping and he was able to go potty in the public restrooms whenever he needed to!!! Yay! I kept asking him if he wanted diapers back on and he would tell me "no, I am a big boy and I go potty in the big boy potty now." I think that is what definitely helped me keep going because he wanted to do this! On Friday we were leaving for Green River for Allie's blessing. I was kinda nervous but I was also not caring too much because I figured he would probably at least pee in his underwear. We put a Pull Up on him for the drive and the couple of times that we stopped he went into the potty and went. We got to Green River with dry pants. Wow, I was really in complete awe of this kid who all the sudden wanted to potty train. I can't say he didn't have any accidents because in Green River he had a few but I have to give this kid so much credit because he did an amazing job even though we went out of town! When we got home Sunday he just kept right on going and even today he is doing a fantastic job! Way to go Natey!
I am so thrilled that we are seeing an end to the big diapers! I finally broke down last time I was at Costco and bought a big box of size 6's for him (I didn't want to buy 6's but decided that he was big enough now) and I am so happy that we haven't even opened them because I am so taking them back to Costco and buying something else...probably a present for Nathan for not making us buy diapers for him anymore! He wears a Pull Up to bed but he wakes up dry about 4-5 days out of the week. I am just trying to figure this drinking thing out before bedtime before I dare put him in his bed in big boy underwear. This is me breathing a HUGE sigh of relief right now...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

I will post pictures of the weekend later on.

Allie's Blessing

We are off to Green River tomorrow for our little nieces blessing. Yep, Allie is being blessed on Sunday. I thought since I have failed to post a picture of her I would because she is sooo sweet! We are very excited to get to meet another new addition to the Parsons Family! Yay!

She has tons of blonde hair if you can't tell but she is so precious!
