Give me some sleep!!!

I swear she is going to stick her whole fist in her mouth one day! Her hands are freezing after she goobers them enough!

This is a silly hat that is from daddy's high school days. Nathan thinks it is his.

Oh and daddy looks just as silly in it as Nathan did. Like father like son, I guess.
Bear hug!

Nathan and his dad are so hard to get to pose for a picture...Rylee is hard enough and then these two make it even harder! hahaha Rylee is sporting the sweat band apparently. Those bows like to blind her every so often! Take notice how cold it is up here. Rylee is in fleece outfits now, Nathan is in long pants and even long sleeves and Ryan and I are in long pants and jackets! The past few days have been quite chilly!

Big smiles from Rylee girl and Nathan...we are just not quite sure of his facial expressions...maybe he is saying cheese or something!

Told you it was cold here! I love this outfit on Rylee. She looks so cute and the little hood has a little knot on the end of it! She is such an angel! Especially after I have learned a huge lesson last night. Rylee has been waking up in the middle of the night for quite a while now...well since it got colder at night. I have been trying to figure out what her deal was. She was up at like 1:30am some nights and others 2am and so on! Then every three hours after that to eat! So I decided she was cold because she goobers her hands with spit and then when I go in there her hands are freezing! So last night I swaddled her like a newborn. I put her hands to her sides and swaddled her in a blanket. Nice and tight so she wouldn't pull her hands out and goober them. She slept all night last night. All night you ask? Yes, I even got up at 6 am and made sure she was okay and she was still sleeping! So finally Nathan got me up at 7:45am and at 8am I went in there and she had just woken up. All that I can say is Amen to swaddling from now on! I love getting a full nights sleep in and it was about time! I felt like I was going to go to the nut house because I was so tired!

Daddy & Giggles

So lately I was a little concerned because Rylee is almost 4 months old now. She smiled soon after she was a month old...which is totally normal. She is the most smiley, happy baby that there ever was. Nathan is constantly copying Ryan and I in how we talk and play with her. Nathan copies us when we say things like Us: "Pretty girl!" Nathan: "Pitty durl!" Us: "Princess Girl!" Nathan: "Pinchuss Durl". I really just say these things half of the time to listen to him copy me. Too funny! But in all seriousness Rylee is going to be 4 months old now and we could not get her to giggle/laugh. I guess we just thought that we were funny and really we are not. I mean come'on little girl! At least make us feel really good about ourselves or something! I even called my sister in law (SIL) Alexis and she was telling me that Elsa (her little girl who is a month younger than Rylee) was just a giggling the other day. So now I feel really dumb because Rylee just doesn't want to laugh. I call my mom because now I am starting to worry (about what I don't know...that she is just a little bit serious or something but I needed to worry apparently) my mom asked if I had blown raspberries on her tummy and the usual things. Yup, I have done all that...even Nathan has attempted doing these funny things. My sister Angie tells me that Morgan (my niece) didn't laugh early. Well I was still a little frustrated and definitely not feeling very funny so I went to Ryan and I told him that I think Nathan laughed a lot sooner than Rylee because she is almost 4 months old. Yesterday Ryan told me to go get in Nathan's baby book where I valiantly kept all of these milestones (not doing as good with Rylee). Yup I was right Nathan was not even 2 months old and Ryan got him to giggle. Ryan claims it is because he is funny looking. But I told him that this was his job and he needed to work with Rylee a little bit on this whole laughing thing! So after he was done cleaning up the garage he came inside and Rylee was in her bouncy seat. He took her and carried her downstairs and was just play laughing at her and wouldn't you know it...she started giggling and squealing! I mean come'on people give me a break! Do you know how hard I have worked to get this girl to crack?! Apparently I am not the funny one in the family and neither is Nathan. We all know that Rylee is scared when Nathan holds her but I am her mom! PALEEZE! This is truly ridiculous! Ryan claims that he is not funny but funny looking. I don't buy that at all! Rylee was just waiting for her dad then she knew she could laugh because he makes me and Nathan laugh too. (Bytheway! She still has not laughed at me!) He is a great guy...better than that he is the BEST dad and the BEST husband to me and his kids! We couldn't ask for anyone better! I love you, Ry! (I will post pictures later of the kids and daddy!)

Grateful

Yesterday we made a deal with Nathan that if he would take a nap we would take him to a movie in the theater. He didn't take the early nap like we had hoped but he took a normal nap. So we all went to dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant called Salsa Leedos then we went to the dollar theater in Sandy. Not that we were being cheap or anything but the normal theaters don't really have ANY kids movies and we were kind of looking for a cartoon to keep him entertained. We ended up finding the dollar theater had Shrek the Third. It was cute and Nathan really did enjoy it. He was SOOO good throughout the whole movie! He wanted to get up a couple of times but there wasn't anywhere to go so he just sat and watched the movie. I think that was the only bad part was that he couldn't get up and walk anywhere between us and the chairs were old and not very comfortable. I definitely would take him back there especially because $1.50 for a movie and $1.00 for a matinee. You can afford to take kids to that!
I have come to the conclusion that moms just never will get the sleep that they truly would like to get. I just want a morning that I can sleep in...no kids running in and jumping on my bed and no baby screaming at me to get her out of her crib because she is hungry or just tired of laying there by herself. I know this won't stop for a long time but I can definitely wish that I could sleep in sometimes. The days before kids...Ryan and I used to sleep in on Saturdays...those were so long ago... But honestly I am happy with my life now. I shouldn't complain because I definitely wanted kids then and I wouldn't change a thing now even if it does mean that I get less sleep than I want most days. Be grateful for what I have right?! Last night saying Nathan's prayers with him was another lesson that I should be grateful for even the smallest of things. Like the movie we were able to see, the popcorn we were able to buy, his drink, and there is so much more and he went on and on last night praying for the little things that should matter that we should be grateful for. That's what I have learned this morning. I am grateful!

Tigger

Nathan and Rylee watched Toy Story together...she actually watched it with him...she must love the colors and movement.

So Nathan wanted to hold Rylee and say cheese. I had to laugh because Rylee always has bug eyes when I let Nathan hold her.

Feeling a little more safe.

Okay, not anymore, he is getting side tracked with other things....HELP MOM!
Nathan picked out his clothes this morning. I was laughing so hard because we couldn't get his head through it. Good thing this was last years costume. Note to self buy a big enough size for his large head.
Oh another Note to Self: Blog more often! Sarah, I apologize for the lack of blogs...felt like I was so repetative that I might need to give everyone a break of my rants.

Melon Days

Me and my two little ones!!
Rylee and mommy

Okay so we are thinking about potty training Nathan. His aunt Angie sent him some big boy underwear and this is what he does with it. LOL I am starting to rethink if he is ready or not! But he did go pee-pee in the big boy potty the other night before his bath! We were so excited!
GREEN RIVER MELON DAYS

This was Saturday morning when we were waiting for the parade to begin. Oh yes and check out that double stroller! We got it just before we left for this vacation! This was Rylee's first trip to Green River.

She finally fell asleep after eating so I was trying to keep her that way.

This was part of the Parsons' clan...the part that watched the parade. So left to right...Ryan's sister Carrie (her little baby inside of her...first part of May) she is sitting on the sidewalk; then Kylie who is Carrie's little girl; Nathan in the stroller, Me and Rylee; Mandy (Ryan's brother Kalen's wife) with Brynnlee inside of her, she is due in November; My mother in law Teri on the sidewalk; Heather (her baby inside of her due in April) and Greg (Ryan's brother). Ryan is taking the picture and Kalen is still across the street talking to someone. It was a fun time at the parade and there was TONS of candy!

Nathan, Kylie and part of uncle Kalen picking up candy as the parade passed by.

Nathan ready to gather candy up...the first Melon Days where he was out picking up candy and oh he was so excited! He had to have pieces in between picking it up. One time he picked up a piece and took a bite...Wrapper and ALL! It was so funny!

This is under the canopies at the booths that we all chill at. Well, okay, so Ryan's mom is in charge of ALL of Melon Days. So she sells t-shirts (Nathan is wearing this years shirt) right there and then next to it where his grandparents are sitting is another booth where his grandma sells crafts. So in this picture Ryan is yes sticking out his red tongue after eating a yummy italian ice and next to him is his dad. Then his grandparents over in the corner. We mostly just hang out in the booth and everybody from the town comes over and we end up talking to all these people Ryan hasn't seen in forever...Okay well a year because everybody that has ever lived in the town of Green River goes back and enjoys the fun festivities on Friday and Saturday.

My cute hunny...Ryan who didn't want his picture taken.

They have lots of free things for the kids to do. This is one of them. They ride in this train. It is actually really long and it travels around filled with kids and adults. They also have jumpy things and paint ball and tons of other activities to do.

Well this picture was taken when Melon Days was winding down. Everyone else was cleaning up and here we are the four sister in laws just chilling. Oh that would be because everyone in this picture is pregnant except for me and I have a little 3 month old. So basically the grandkids in the Parsons will have doubled by next May. It's so fun to have babies coming finally!!!!

Nathan and Ryan enjoying some watermelon. Yes you are not losing your sight...this watermelon is ORANGE! Kinda crazy! It tastes the same as pink/red watermelon just orange and a little more grainy. The melon growers sit at the park and cut up watermelon for everyone to enjoy all day. Yep all the free watermelon you can eat. Good thing Nathan LOVES watermelon!

So this is what Nathan looked like at the end of the day. He was such a mess! He had ketchup and watermelon and drinks all down the front of him! They have some yummy food at Melon Days! Can't you tell?

Nathan and Kylie helping Uncle Greg do the garbage. Nathan LOVES the four wheeler!

Rylee looked like an angel for Melon Days. She was such a good baby the whole time!

Aunt Mandy found time to dance with Nathan and Kylie while everyone was cleaning up. There are some dancers that come in the evening so we were enjoying their music.
We had a great time at Melon Days this year. It was so much fun to be with family. Everyone was there from Ryan's side of the family. That doesn't happen often enough so it was great to chit chat with the girls and enjoy each others company.
Rylee and mommy got their toes painted before Melon Days but we had to have a picture. They are too cute huh?

Nathan enjoyed our bed after we got home. Monday morning he got right in and was watching cartoons and looking through a toy magazine. He was pointing to his show telling me something about it. Before I end this probably LONG post! I have to tell everyone what Nathan's comment was last night. We were out and about getting a new phone for me and when we left the store the moon was up. I pointed it out to Nathan and told him to look at the moon. He looked up and said "Moon, broten." Translation: Moon Broken. Why? Because it was a crescent moon. Ryan and I just laughed it was so cute and innocent! So now when I look at the moon and it isn't almost full I will probably always say that it is broken! How cute can little kids be? Seriously!

Blast from the Past

Today was a fun filled day at the park...the park I used to frequent as a child growing up in Sandy. It was a walk down memory lane for me because we met up with two of my childhood friends and their kids. Emilee and Katie! Emilee has one little boy Dax who is just over a year old and Katie has two little boys: Ezra (2 1/2 years old) and Luke (7 1/2 months old). Katie's mom (Kim) and my mom came and helped a ton with the boys even though they played so great together! We just talked and picked up right where we left off so long ago! I moved away when I was 10 years old! It was so much fun to hang out with these girls...amazing how old friendships never die! The boys had a great time climbing up and down to get to the slides and ran around in the sand, dug in it and got nice and dirty! Definitely need a bath tonight! We washed his hands when we got home and I got a taste of just how dirty his bath will be tonight! LOL Seriously I sometimes think I need to let loose a little bit because he is a boy and he will be getting even more dirty as he gets bigger. I am getting better at realizing this but it is taking some time and conscious effort on my part to not constantly wipe him off with wet wipes and things of that nature! I need to let him play and get dirty...I know it won't hurt him to eat some dirt but I have a hard time not trying to control those types of things. Definitely I don't want to be controlling so I am working on this! hehehe I know people who are controlling and it's not one of my favorite qualities. I am learning to pick my battles and this is one that I am WILLING to LOSE on! Yay for me! So I say old friends and new friends because I feel like these two girls are both (old and new) for me! Picking up friendships from many years ago and our little kids becoming friends too. Hopefully we will be hanging out more often and having play dates. I am sounding like a desperate mom now! Well I think I know why! Since Ryan and I have moved up here we just haven't made tons of GREAT friends. Well these girls are the type that are GREAT friends. We have tons in common and it makes hanging out that much easier I think. So I swear I am not a stalker but I love friends and it is hard sometimes to move some place and think about how social we once were and that has kind of faded. Maybe we are making a comeback! Seems like we would be closer if we moved over to Sandy but that also entails selling our house! (crossing fingers we get some more showings this weekend!) Okay so I will post some pictures that I didn't take (tsk tsk tsk on me for forgetting my camera) luckily Kim and Emilee both had their cameras! Yay! So I will post the fun pictures of us at the park later!

Does anyone read this?

Well hello there everyone...I mean anyone? So I have missed out on any comments from people lately. Pretty bummed and thinking that no one is reading this...I am thinking that maybe I am talking to myself instead. But that's okay, I can do that too! I am not super thrilled today because Ryan is going to be gone until Thursday! UGH! I get to be home with two kids for the week and also that means I have to get ready to go all by myself! Where you might ask am I going? Well, it would be Melon Days in Green River this coming Friday and Saturday. So onward to Green River on Thursday so Ryan can play in the golfing tournament on Friday morning. We have not ventured to Green River with two kiddos yet. We did go to Vegas so I am hoping that the car ride is better because it is only three hours. We will be staying at my brother in law Greg and his wife Heather's house (thanks a million to them for letting us come and crash their house)...you know with two kids it really is crashing! It should be a good weekend...filled to the brim with things to do but good overall I am sure. So I will take lots of pictures if I remember and blog about the weekend.
So now that Ryan is gone till Thursday when he will walk in the door drop one suitcase and pick up another I am left at home with the planning and packing to do myself. I feel like I have a list a mile long. As I type this blog I already have a list sitting here in front of me that I just keep on adding to. Okay so here it goes!
Today: Buy Rylee some winter pajamas! She is freezing at night because it gets cold in our house!
Laundry (Finish it completely too...you know, folded and ALL put away!) Even Rugs, towels and bed sheets.
Tomorrow:
Dermatology appointment at 9:20 am! Holy cow early!
Take kids to mom's house before dr. appointment...that means even EARLIER! (note to self don't make such early appointments next time i.e. before 10am!)
Go shopping at Costco: Things to get at Costco: hair dryer (mine wouldn't start yesterday morning so we are sporting pony tails till I buy one!), shampoo & conditioner, Oxiclean, toilet bleach tablets, clorox wipes, cute courdoroy pants for ME, anything else that I think of when I am there!
Go to Babies R US and buy me a new diaper bag with coupon of course! Ryan's fire money is nice and I think I deserve something for me since I did put up with two kids for almost two weeks. (with the help of my mom and dad!) :) But Still!
Clean house: i.e. bathrooms, sweep floors, mop floors, wash the bathroom and kitchen rugs, vaccuum whole house.
Talk Alexis into starting a blog as well! She gave me the idea about doing this whole thing and she still hasn't done one! Tsk Tsk!
Wednesday: Lunch at the park with a friend I grew up with in Sandy. She has a little boy Nathan's age so we will have a great time. She also has a baby 6 months older than Rylee. Her mom and my mom are coming too and it will be a great time!
Be Home for stroller to be delivered! Yay! I talked Ryan into getting a double stroller! We had a jogging stroller that we got from a garage sale and we took it to Kid to Kid and got all of our money back because you really couldn't take it to any stores...wouldn't fit through the door. We bought one online...spent more than we were thinking about in the beginning but we are very excited to get it. It's probably going to come when I am gone to lunch but I will hurry home so it doesn't sit outside for very long. This will be so nice to have for Melon Days.
Thursday: Pack...for me, Rylee, Nathan and Ryan. That's lots of packing but if I get it done then Ryan doesn't have to worry about it. Who knows what time he will be home at so if I can get his done then we will be ready to go.
Pack the car with too much stuff! It hurts my head to think about everything you have to take to make it through one weekend with two kids now! Diapers out the WAZOO! Wipes, extra changes of clothes for lil' Miss Rylee or Rydee as we like to call her. Which bytheway we have a million nicknames for her. Ryan is coming up with more and more all the time. I like to steal his but he just comes up with another one.
Then off to GR and hopefully it won't be too late by the time we get there!
Alrighty then I better get going!

~~Pretty In Pink~~

Well, I have decided that yesterday's blog was sooooooo boring! It was such a fun weekend and the blog; at least I don't think showed that. So I was trying to figure out why I was not into writing yesterday because usually I am totally excited to blog. Well, I decided that I just didn't feel great yesterday. Ya know when you have one of those days where you have no energy and you just can't get moving. I felt like that and it seemed to keep getting worse throughout the day. Finally I made myself get up off my butt and make dinner and it was even a yummy tacos with everything including Mexican Rice etc... Even after that I still didn't feel great all night. Then I woke up this morning and my neck was sore. Who knows how I slept to make that feel this way!
On a lighter note! Rylee has been doing better sleeping ever since we got home. All weekend she was in her port a crib and she was up all the time! Some nights she was up at like 1:30am! Holy cow it was a long weekend in the sleeping department! BUT! I am happy to announce that she has decided to change that all around since we got home. The first night was a little rough still but since then she has gotten 100x better! My mom was around this morning and came over to say to the kids. Nathan was so excited to see her and the boono (balloon) she had picked up for him at Harmons. When she was getting ready to go Nathan decided that he should go in Nana's tar (car). So we got him dressed...yes we were moving very slowly this morning as well. Then I shipped him off to Nana's house for an afternoon of fun and excitement...things that just don't happen here I suppose. lol
Well, as I sit here typing I am currently burning cd's to send to my little brother. He has requested some cd's to listen to on his mission. What a nice sister I am! So these are the cd's I am doing for him. Voice Male cd's: HIMS and Up, Up and Away. Colors: first three cd's. EFY Joy in the Journey (the best!!!). Then my mom is going to get me some MoTab cd's to burn too. That's enough I think.
So I think I am getting closer on winter clothes for the kids. I have bought plenty for Rylee for 3-6 months and now I am thinking more about Nathan. I think I need to get him some more pants...ya know jeans and khakis. I do have some Gap gift cards that I still need to use. So maybe I will be going there and doing a little shopping. lol Yay! I have bought some seriously cute clothes for Rylee for this coming spring, summer and even when she turns 2 years old! lol Yep I couldn't resist when Gymboree was having their Labor Day Sale!!! Seriously I got to the website before it had been picked over and I got some HUGE deals! I had a great time too. I usually am not a shopper online especially for myself or Ryan but when it comes to my kids it is a lot easier to buy for them online. Ryan is very picky for himself so I let him find his own clothes usually. :) Well, I am off to burn more cds! Gotta love it!

Vacation Time

Well let me just share a little bit about my weekend. We had a great weekend and it started with a great lawn mowing job courtesy of Ryan and little Ryan....OH I mean Nathan! I could have sworn that was Ryan when he was little! Nathan desperately wants to be just like his daddy. This includes helping push the lawn mower over the grass that comes to his knees! hehehe They are doing a great job aren't they?! Kudos to both of them for doing this in the heat!

We started out our drive down south and Nathan turned greener than green watching his movies. He was eating some snacks when I turned around and he was so pale and greenish color I hurried and turned off his movies and told him to take a nap. He fell asleep like this with his "bointy" aka blankie over his head. The amazing blankie I tell you! So when we arrived in Cedar City it seemed that we went down to visit some friends...which turned out not to be there...so we went to one of the local parks and Nathan got to go down the slide and as you will see: swing on the swings! Two of his most favorite things to do lately!

While we bummed around Cedar we decided Nathan needed a haircut in the worst way! You can tell he was definitely not sure about the thing buzzing around his head but he definitely got better as the bribes got more and more...lol I know you have all done it too! Candy...okay maybe not good enough...toy...not even good enough? How about an ice cream cone?! Alright! Almost done....getting closer to ice cream!
Finally done! He definitely deserved an ice cream for this one! We didn't even have to hold him down or anything! I can't believe the people at Great Clips didn't even have a sucker for him to have while sitting there! He was a perfect angel and I was a VERY HAPPY mom! :)

We were up and ready to go the next morning. Okay well no makeup for me yet but had to capture mommy and the two kiddos patiently waiting for daddy to load up the car.
Finally to Las Vegas! Yep, to Wade and Alexis's house! The two babies with Nana and Papa. Elsa is just too cute I tell you!

Well as for Rylee she is thinking that Mommy's finger looks extremely yummy! Elsa is just going to give Rylee a great BIG hug! I know that they were BEST friends up in Heaven.

Nathan and Caitlyn posing for the camera. They are sitting on Caitlyn's little Dora car and they both thought they should be on it...apparently they found a way to achieve that! Saying CHEEEEEEESE!

This was a huge highlight of the weekend. It was so hot in Las Vegas. I believe about 106 degrees so Ryan, my mom and I decided to take Nathan and Caitlyn swimming. Alexis brought Elsa and was watching while Rylee stayed back with Papa and Wade. Caitlyn has no fear of the water while Nathan is absolutely scared to death. It was a lot of fun and nice to cool off!
Sunday we went to church for Elsa's blessing. It was really nice. Here are the proud mom and dad with baby Elsa for her special day. Then later that night we had YUMMY pulled pork sandwiches, fruit, chips, and lots more GREAT food! So as you can all tell we did have a fantastic weekend. I didn't want to leave Las Vegas! I was totally ready for more heat! I just wanted to veg out by the pool for like...oh maybe another week or so! Ryan was very much ready to come home. He hates the heat. We are two of a kind aren't we? I would have loved to hang out with Lexi and the two girls! Nathan he adores Caitlyn and was always asking where she went. Since we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express every night he wanted to know where she was. Overall, a great weekend but have you ever felt like you need a vacation from your vacation as soon as you get home? That's how I felt. Probably because most of the time moms don't really get true vacations from their "Job". Maybe one day huh?
