Party time!!!

This past weekend we went to two different Christmas parties. We had a fun time at both of them. Saturday night was our ward Christmas party and we were so excited to go and enjoy it this year because last year and the year before we were DOING the work! So fun to sit and enjoy things! Santa was there and our kids sat on his lap. Then on Sunday morning we got up and drove down to Ryan's aunt and uncle's house and went to his family's Christmas party. We had fun visiting with Ryan's family and enjoyed another visit from Santa. Here are the pictures I took from this weekend.

Rylee's turn on Santa's lap at our ward's Christmas party Saturday night. She didn't really want to sit on his lap but she only whined a little bit...not a cry so that was pretty good for how I thought it could have happened. I was thinking if she was upset enough she might pass out or something so it was a successful sit on Santa's lap.

Nathan and Rylee on Santa's lap at our ward party.

Rylee's second time on Santa's lap...the very next day and she was not happy at all! She ALMOST passed out this time!

Nathan telling Santa that he wants GeoTrax for Christmas this year and trying to convince him that he has been good. I don't know if Santa fell for that one!

Allie just wanted to stare at Santa

Kinsey was not happy about Santa this year!

Zachary not really into Santa!

JJ (Ryan's youngest cousin) with Santa

The youngest grandkids and great-grandkids...Rylee and Kinsey didn't want to be there.

Ryan's cousins...Jayden, Jesi, and JJ
Daniel (Ryan's cousin)
Grandma Brian got Celine Dion tickets...

Preschool Christmas Party

It has taken me forever to posting about everything that has been going on around here! Last week was a crazy busy week with Preschool since I was teaching and I had the Christmas party on Thursday. Luckily I had a few moms come and help and that was a lifesaver! We had lots of fun with the boys. We made gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and the boys decorated them, then they tried to put the carrot nose on the snowman, they decorated stockings, read a Christmas story, ate snacks and had a book exchange! It was lots of fun and chaos but we had a great time! Here are some pictures from the party and Roxy in the snow...it has snowed TONS here lately and Roxy likes to eat it and frolick in it!

18 months

Have I ever mentioned how much I like my kids pediatrician??!! I know my friends know that I really like my bug man...duh, he keeps all the bugs from entering my house!!! I also really like my doctor that I go to as well. I have stumbled upon all of these people...not really much research but only that I got a discount the first time for the bug company, I got a free visit to Nathan's dentist and the dentist Ryan and I go to as well, I called labor and delivery when we moved here to find a good doctor...all I did was ask the nurse at the hospital I called to give me the name of a doctor that they enjoy working with and ta da! I got my doctor's name. I randomly asked the guy who we went through to get the lending for our house who he took his kids to for their pediatrician and walah! I found the most amazing pediatrician for my kids! He is the nicest guy and so good with kids! He is always very proactive about anything that may be suspicious. He is just a great doctor all around! Sorry that was a big introduction for this blog but anyway. Yesterday was Rylee's well check up for her 18 month appointment. She got a clean bill of health and he is referring her to a dermatologist for the mole that is on the side of her head. She is still a little thing but here are her stats!
Weight: 22 lbs. 7 oz. 22%
Height: 31.75 inches 51%
Head Circ.: 18.7 inches 69%
After the measurments we had to go get flu shots for Rylee and Nathan (luckily Rylee didn't have any more shots this time!). I bribed Nathan if he was good that I would go get him a slurpee after the shot. He got the shot and he cried and he was so sad and hurt! Then Rylee got hers and I thought she would probably pass out but luckily she didn't! The nurse who gave Rylee her shot remembered her from 6 months ago when she passed out from the shots she gave her! Apparently no one had ever passed out on her before and she will remember Rylee for that. Nathan cried more than Rylee did but he got his slurpee for being a good sport. I have come to realize that I will have to buy two of everything like slurpees because Rylee was so sad to find out that she didn't have her very own slurpee! How mean of me!
Oh and let me just tell you all that as of last week Rylee is now in nursery! We can celebrate now...I never remember being in the hall with Nathan as much as I have with Rylee. I never go to Sunday school...I chase after her while she runs the halls. So we are so excited that church will be even more enjoyable for Ryan and I now!

Sleepover

Thursday night was my Relief Society Christmas Dinner and Ryan was refereeing out in Wendover so I took Rylee and Nathan to my mom and dad's house for a sleepover. We also had our dental cleanings scheduled for Friday morning so it worked out really well that they weren't with us for that. When we went to pick them up my mom said that the kids were really good for her which they always are! She said that when my dad laid Rylee down to go to bed Nathan was already in the room in bed and Rylee started crying. She said then she stopped crying and you could hear Nathan and Rylee in there just talking for a few minutes and then they were both asleep a few minutes later. Nathan overheard my mom telling me this and so he said to me "mommy, I tell Rylee: It's okay Rylee, mommy will be back tomorrow". How cute is that?! He is the sweetest big brother!! He really cares about his sister!!!

Way too young!

I have mentioned on my blog some of the interesting conversations Nathan (my 3 1/2 year old) have had together. So yesterday I was laying on couch trying to recover from the stomach flu I had on Monday and I was watching a show I had recorded on the Discovery channel called "Deliver Me". Now, if anyone has ever seen this show you know that it is about three ladies who are all OBGYNs in a practice together. The show is all about different women and their pregnancies and deliveries. I love these kind of shows! I do watch them with Nathan around but when it comes to delivering the baby I always make sure he isn't watching because that would unload a whole lot of questions along with the blood and gore he doesn't need to see. Yesterday he was watching after some little twins had been born and I said
"aren't those little babies so cute, Nathan?"
He commented on how little they were and went about playing. A couple of minutes later the show was filming another women who was still pregnant and Nathan asked
"mommy, where is the baby??"
So of course I told him "the baby is in the mommy's tummy Nathan."
Nathan then asked "Mommy, how does the baby get in the mommy's tummy?"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I about died when this question came out of his mouth! I didn't even know how to answer him. I told him that a mommy and a daddy make a baby and Heavenly Father helps put the baby in the mommy's tummy. I honestly did NOT know what to say and now I wished I wouldn't have said anything like I did say! Agh! I called my mom and I was freaking out to her because he is ONLY 3 1/2 years old!! Come on now people!!!

So on another note, this morning first thing Ryan took Roxy in to get spayed! Yay! She is also getting some baby teeth pulled because she hasn't lost them yet and she is chewing on toys and whatever she can get her teeth on! I feel bad she has to go through all of this but it will be better in the long run! :)

Our Thanksgiving

This year we traveled to Green River for Thanksgiving with Ryan's family. We left Wednesday and came home on Sunday and our 4 days there were filled with lots of family, fun, crafts, food and much more! Everybody got there sometime on Wednesday and then Thursday we hung out and ate a yummy Thanksgiving meal! Nathan thoroughly enjoyed having Kylie, his cousin, to play with. They were always busy doing something! All the girls brought a craft for us to do so after Thanksgiving we got busy doing some fun crafts with my MIL's Cricut machine and some fun scrapbooking crafts that Mandy brought for us!
Friday morning all of us sisters (in laws) took our littlest baby and drove to Grand Junction, Colorado to go shopping! We shopped ALL day! We left at 7:30 in the morning and didn't get home until 7pm! I tell ya shopping can be so exhausting! It was so much fun though, going and hanging out with my SIL's. We don't really get lots of time together so it was fun to go have some girl time. Meanwhile the boys went looking for deer...does that surprise anyone???
Saturday we went and got family pictures taken of everyone...since last year we have had two new babies in the family so it was good to get some new ones! It definitely wasn't easy especially when Nathan had a melt down right after the first set of big family pictures! Seriously I wasn't in the mood for him to have a melt down because he is one of the "bigger" cousins...not the baby which I would expect to have more melt downs. Later, Mandy and I got the Cricut out again to make some tags for Christmas which turned out so cute! Ryan and Kalen helped my MIL, Teri get her Christmas lights hung up. Then right before the sun went down a bunch of us went to shoot clay pigeons. I haven't shot a gun since Ryan and I were dating but I really enjoy shooting. We even took Nathan, Rylee and Kinsey and they were all really good. Mandy and I had to have our own turn...the 4 guys lined up with one throwing made us too nervous to go shoot in that line! Sunday we went to church and came home. What a fun weekend we had with the Parsons!

Here is our own little mountain goat! Yeah, she is on top of the table! Naughty grandpa let her climb up there! haha She climbs on anything and everything she can! She even turned a cup upside down and stood on it to get on the couch the other day. Great...

This is double trouble! Rylee and Kinsey are only 5 1/2 months apart and they are both walking...they were both into everything! You couldn't take your eyes off of them for a second!

Here are the real pros!!!

This was our late night game playing we did...I think this time we were only up until just after midnight. That's pretty early for us because we can get carried away sometimes!

The cute little kids!
Thanks everyone for the pictures off of your cameras! I didn't get mine out very often but they shared their pictures so thanks! For more fun pictures of our weekend check out Carrie and Mandy's blogs...I am sure they will more pictures!
